Cue of the Week: Broken - End Titles

Continuing the darker mood of the last Cue of the Week on a smaller scale, here's a elegaic cue for two cellos and sampled musical textures. This was the end title theme for the short film "Broken" by Momentum Entertainment. (Between you and me, I cheated: there's only one cellist in the recording, tracked twice.)

Cue of the Week: Darkness and Light

With all the pop material I've played here recently, I figured it was time to return to good old-fashioned orchestral cues. There's also been a lot of call for longer musical material. This week's selection, Darkness and Light, addresses both requests.

This cue was written as a standalone piece rather than accompaniment to picture. Stylistically, however, it has a lot more in common with fantasy or thriller film music than classical concert music. It's written for string orchestra, with winds, brass, and percussion in supporting roles. There may be a harp in there somewhere too - it's been a while since I looked at the score. :) Enjoy!
